Classtime: 3D scanner and MeshMixer

I was a bit blown away by the 3D scanner. It was smaller than I thought it would be and very portable. Technology is amazing.

In class, we just 3D scan a butch of things, even people. I 3D scanned my headphones as a sample. It was a really cool experience! I wonder what game studios use for when they use 3D scanners for their work? It's really convenient to speed up the modeling process and do fixes on the computer.

Also in class, I played around with Meshmixer. I uploaded the scans we did in class and learned a few functions. But I had the most funy messing around with this bunny. I'm so glad my computer didn't crash with the amount of digital clay I had. The computer was lagging really hard as I was trying to sculpt the floating piece.  Now that I sculpted this beautiful creature, I kind of want to draw it out. I think it's gorgeous.

Some progress work with Cosmow. I think I've solve the head for now? I redid the head a bunch of times, but I think this one was more simpler to handle. The last thing I did was attempt a hand. The hands for Cosmow is a bit different from the hand model I made previously. He has like four gigantic fingers. They look sort of weird when I smoother it out. But that's all I could do for Cosmow. I should add his tail next I guess? Overall, I think Cosmow is close to being done.
