MudBox Exploration and Rendering in Maya

MeshMixer file: Cosmow_3.obj

Tried playing with Mudbox for Cosmow, but it didn't end well. Some technical error with Cosmow's mesh that Mudbox didn't like. I think it's around the hands this time? Since it's highlighted in red. Before, the highlights were around the ankles and on the Bell. But somehow Mudbox isn't too picky with this version. I'm not sure how to fix this, I thought by putting him into Meshmixer would help. Sadly, it did not.

I did uploaded the new completed cosmow into Meshmixer and into Mudbox.  The first three are from the incomplete version. I managed to smooth it out and connect the severed hand. But I can't seem to recreate that with the newer version. Will need some patience....

It is easier to sculpt in Mudbox compared to Meshmixer, only because I'm not afraid of the object collapsing on itself. it's so easy to sculpt something in Meshmixer, but have it condense in an area. It's really cary when it happens. I try to toggle with brush size and strength to control this chaos. I think in Mudbox, it's easier to shape the object without breaking it. Sadly, Mudbox doesn't approve of my mesh for Cosmow so I am unable to do much sculpting as of yet.

Some notes for Rendering in Maya:

Transferring stuff from Mudbox onto Maya, Keeps the mesh shape and the color (hit 6 to view the paint)
It takes awhile for Maya to Upload Mudbox files

In Mudbox, under files, can send selection into Maya and it’ll load automatically.
